Mpumalanga Comes Alive
The 'original' Mafikeng Annual Sixties party takes place during the first weekend of December and has been running since 1998 It continues to grow in stature with the addition of every annual chapter, attracting young adults from all over the country and Southern African sub-continent. The event plays host to a unique melting pot of these cultures, coming together for a massive celebration.
10 years later in 2010, the city of Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, will play host to The 2nd Annual Sixties Weekend in Nelspruit.
Nelspruit has thus far proven to be one of the most emerging dynamic cities in the country in terms of infrastructural developments and was being selected as one of the host cities for 2010 Soccer World Cup.
The Nelspruit Sixties Event will provide the city with an opportunity to unify its citizens and their neighboring countries to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and to promote tourism in the province, elevating the level of growing excitement amongst young adults, emerging business individuals, students and tourist enthusiasts.
From the 01st to the 03rd October, Mpumalanga will come Alive with 3 top events including a pre event at Emnotweni arena, Main Event at the Mbombela Stadium Precinct and Lowveld National Botanical Garden for the Sunday's Soul sessions with the "Good Guys".
Participants and invited patrons will enjoy exciting activities and great music supplied by a host of top South African talent.
