Emnotweni Casino is very proud of the fact that the Emnotweni Stay Easy Hotel has been selected as a finalist in the 2011 AA Travel Guides American Express Accommodation Awards programme announced recently. The Awards programme is in its 18th year and more than 48 000 consumers commented this year on over 1400 AA Quality Assured or star graded establishments nationally.

“We are extremely excited to be one of the 2011 finalists. The AA Travel Guide is well-respected and with so many customers participating we feel very proud to have been selected,” comments Michelle Higgo, General Manager at Emnotweni Stay Easy.

Guests commented on a total of 226 semi-finalists in 36 categories including bed & breakfasts, game lodges, self catering holiday apartments, game lodges as well as various types of hotels. Guests were questions with regards to service levels, quality of the facilities, cleanliness, ambience and food. These comments are then sent back to the various establishments and can assist them to improve certain aspects of their operations and are therefore regarded as an effective tool to respond to the views and needs of guests. 

Where high scores were received, qualified assessors verified them by visiting these establishments to ensure that the results were correct. After the scores were verified and finalised, a list of the semi-finalists were made available on www.accommodationawards.co.za and there after a list of finalists were announced.

The winners of these prestigious awards will be announced at a gala awards ceremony held at the tourism Indaba in Durban on 8 May 2011.

“We are happy just to have come this far and look forward to the results. Even if we are not a winner, we still feel privileged for being acknowledged and will continue to deliver excellent service and warm hospitality to our guests,” concludes Olivier.
