It’s time to twist and bop at the third annual Nelspruit Sixties Weekend
Emnotweni Casino will once again do the honours of hailing the start of the annual Nelspruit Sixties Weekend with a kick-off bash second to none at its Arena on the 14th of October 2011.
As always, the who’s who of the South African music and celeb scene will strut their stuff at the warm-up event while top DJs and artists entertain the crowd. Emnotweni Arena’s top notch food and beverage team will see to it that guests are treated like VIPs, with gorgeous food and delicious drinks.
Tickets to the launch party are available to the public for R 100 at www.ticketpros.co.za / postnet nationwide and at the door but places are limited so those who are keen to rub shoulders with SA celebs and enjoy a great night out are advised to book as soon as possible. In 2010, some 1 500 people bopped and weaved ‘til the early hours – a fitting start to the weekend.
“We’re delighted to be hosting the launch party for this year’s Sixties Weekend. This will be the third consecutive year that Emnotweni Casino has been entrusted with this honour. It’s always a colourful and energetic party with some of the country’s top DJs and performers on the bill. Our team is going to be pulling-out all the stops to make this the best kick-off party yet. Guests can expect the party to rage on late into the night. It’s going to be a good one,” says Ig Olivier, General Manager at Emnotweni Casino.
Some of the artists and DJs set to perform at the launch party include Glen Lewis, Vinny Da Vinci, China and Fistaz Mixwell. Guests are urged to dress accordingly.
“The Sixties Party is all about retro music and retro fashion. It’s a rare opportunity to step back in time, wear extreme sixties attire and party like they did in ‘the good old days’. The Mpumalanga Comes Alive Sixties Weekend is set to become a tradition that will attract tourists to our beautiful city year after year,” says Olivier, adding that the event attracted around 21 000 to the city in 2010.
The Emnotweni Arena is perfect for large-scale entertainment events like the Sixties Weekend launch party. The Arena offers 720m² of open floor space which can accommodate anything from 25 to over 1 000 people in various formats. The Area is easily dressed-up to suit the theme and vibe of the events it accommodates, with facilities that are of an international standard. Of course, Emnotweni’s entertainment team is trained and well-versed at playing gracious and professional hosts to the diverse mix of people and cultures that stream to the Arena for these events, making for an exceptional experience all-round.
Aside from the Arena, the Emnotweni complex also consists of a casino, restaurants, and two neighbouring hotels; and is adjacent to the Riverside Mall.
