There is a star-studded line up of artists scheduled to lead locals in song at the 2011 Carols by Candlelight at Riverside Mall on the 7th of December.

On the bill for the evening, which is sponsored by Emnotweni Casino, SPAR, Riverside Mall, Riverside Park, Coca-Cola and Jacaranda FM, are Elvis Blue, Nianell, Walter, Theresa and Janetta, and Vicarious Music with Mark Moore and Viana van der Heever. Assisting Jacaranda’s charismatic DJ Miguel as master of ceremonies will be the one and only Frankie du Toit, as well as the stunning Diane Broodryk; Frankie and Diane will also being doing their 94.2 morning show from the Emnotweni studios on the 8th.

The Carols by Candlelight will be held at the newly opened Boulevard entrance of Riverside Mall. Weather forecasts will be closely monitored, and in case of rain, it will be moved to the undercover parking area. The event is open to everyone filled with Christmas song and spirit. The gates will open at 17h00 and the festivities will kick-off from 18h30. Entrance is a book, which will be donated to charity. People are urged to bring their own chairs. You will also have the opportunity to further support charity when purchasing something to drink from the Rotary bar at the event, or even donate a pint of blood at the event.

Elvis Blue
Elvis Blue needs little introduction. After winning South African Idols Season 6, he has made a name for himself on the local music scene and his first single “Things my father said” has enjoyed loads of airplay on the country’s commercial radio stations.



Nianell
Singer-songwriter Nianell is known as the vivacious, fiery-haired and angel-tongued majestic mistress of music. With her immaculate voice, she dazzles with ease among four octaves. She is a vocal gymnast, her music original and exciting. Elements of Folk, Pop, R&B, Country, Classic and even Celtic music are all fused into her own unique style.



Vicarious Music
Vicarious Music, comprising Mark Moore and Viana van der Heever, are known for their ability to lead their audiences on a musical journey through time, reviving old classics by music legends that appeal to young and old.

Janetta Rottcher, Theresa Prinsloo and Walter Fourie from the Lowveld Chamber of Music are very talented musicians and highly trained in their respective fields. They have many years of performance experience between them both locally and internationally.
