“BEL OMBRE”, Beautiful shades. “OMBRE, a visual graduation from light to dark or vice versa. The Bel Ombre and Bar Restaurant offers a full day of dining set in a relaxed atmosphere with a contemporary flair. A unique dining experience served in an area of perfect ambiance, the transition between day and night is a feature in the form of textures and colours at the entrance, to accentuate the name and the changeover in dining times, i.e. breakfast to lunch, lunch to dinner.
The restaurants earthy colours are taken from the vibrant indigenous flowers and leafy plants in and around the beautiful botanical gardens.
The introduction of two raised areas in opposite corners of the restaurant adds to the many different zones diners can enjoy as part of their dining experience, including the 8-seater private room, which is in sharp contrast to the more informal seating area or stage for performing artist.
Bel OMBRE, your early morning meeting place, over a cup of freshly brewed Café and a classic and / or healthy, but simple breakfast. Lunch doesn’t have to be a major affair, if it is light you’re looking for then we have the perfect Small Bites such as our Coriander Prawn Cakes or Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings or Salad selection.
For that afternoon meeting that may just lead into dinner we have a selection of bar snacks just to get the evening started.
Dinner should never be rushed and at Bel OMBRE the statement rings true. Take your time perusing the menu. As we are very passionate about food and the overall guest experience our Chef has put his own twist on some traditional dishes such as Lamb Cutlets on a base of pea puree and gnocchi or try the grilled 500g T-Bone with a black pepper crust served with rustic fries and onion rings!
A great dining experience should never be only about the amazing food but all the elements that make up the experience – good food, good wine, good cheer!
No dining experience is complete unless you have sampled a good wine or cocktail. Our wine list comprises a selection of popular South African classics with some quirky alternatives. Our cocktails are both traditional and new, with a fresh variation on some classics.
